Tickets will be available for pickup at the Zoo Administration Office (200 Goold Street, Racine WI, 53402) before the concert until 12PM. After 12PM the day of the concert, tickets will be held at "Will Call" at Zoo entrance (2131 N. Main Street, Racine, WI 53402). Please bring your ID.

Gold Steps
Alternative Press has named them in their “10 unsigned bands to keep an eye on in 2021" and
aptly called their music a fusion of pop-punk and post-hardcore, with "cathartic emo vocals and
lyrics" that make for an eclectic blend all their own. For a band that says they've never felt like
part of the in crowd, this is just one of many accolades ringing throughout the industry.
The band has been featured in Rock Sound, had several features in Alternative Press, a spot
on San Antonio's Warped Tour, So What?!, Summerfest, and SXSW official showcases.
They’ve even shared the stage with acts like Belmont, As It Is, Forever Came Calling, The
Ataris, Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost), and more through regional and national
tours.
Self-proclaimed Warped Tour Kids who found refuge in bands of the 90s and early 2000s
pop-punk scene, Milwaukee’s Gold Steps brings a playful, energetic mood to all that they
create, with a sound that teeters between influences like The Wonder Years, State Champs, and
Neck Deep to create impassioned lyrics and hard-hitting, emotive songs.
”In creativity, there are no rules,” says the band. “We’ve written songs in many different ways.
Sometimes we jam something out and it just blossoms into an actual song. Sometimes it starts
with a vocal melody. We’ve even written a song by trying to emulate a specific feeling. Anything
goes; All creation starts with just... starting! Somewhere, however, wherever or whatever
inspires it..”
“Made up of married duo Liz Mauritz (vocals) and Zach Duarte (guitar), with Ryan Rivas (bass)
and Mike Britz (drums), the foursome have a slew of releases lined up for 2022. Up first is “Stay
The Same” a collaboration with Nick Thompson (Thief Club, Hit The Lights), who not only
shares vocals on the track, but appears in the music video as well.
“We shot at Four Seasons, this legendary warehouse skatepark in Milwaukee that's peppered
with murals by local artists, and asked the CIB Milwaukee chapter crew to skate and show off
their mad skills,” explains Liz. “We goofed around on this old toy tractor that's been in my family
for generations. And that was it! There were some mishaps pre-shoot, and the shoot was almost
derailed an hour before we were scheduled to start...but that's a whole other story."
The video achieves what all of Gold Steps’ music hopes to achieve—a feeling of belonging. Of
being part of the family, even if you’ve felt like an outcast. For these four friends, it’s all about
making music they believe in, and hoping that reaches a community of peers who, like Gold
Steps, have never been one of the cool kids; but who couldn’t possibly care less—so long as
they’re surrounded by the people and music they love.

Andrew and Nick Tempte
As the author of Balancing Act: Teach Coach Mentor Inspire, Senior Advisor at Kaplan North America and a classic rock musician, Andrew Temte continues to hone his work/life balance. Together with his son Nick, and his band, The Remainders, Andy and team are proud to announce the release of a new music video for their song “Hitchin’ a Ride.” This is the first music video for the #1 classic rock band in Western Wisconsin.
Available on YouTube and Facebook, the music video features clips from recent live performances of “Hitchin a Ride” and captures the lively and positive spirit of The Remainders. With the video, produced in collaboration with Dylan Overhouse Productions in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the band looks to inspire their fans to follow their dreams, no matter their age.
The production of “Hitchin’ a Ride” was a family affair; Andy, based in La Crosse, and his son Nick, now living in Milwaukee, collaborated in their home studio to write and produce the tune. “It was awesome how organically it all happened. It’s been better than I could have expected,” Nick says of producing the song with his father. With their music, they hope to encourage other families to make music together.
An experienced musician, Andy found the inspiration for “Hitchin’ a Ride” while riding his bicycle down scenic Highway 33 in the bluffs of Western Wisconsin. He discovered a giant bug on his leg that, in Andy’s words, was “just hitchin’ a ride.” He immediately began humming the hook and singing the lyrics for what would become a love song about his 37-year relationship with his wife Linda. “The song ‘Hitchin’ a Ride’ is all about how I’m hitching a ride with my dear wife Linda in the wonderful journey that we’ve had,” says Andy.
Together since 2004, The Remainders have earned themselves a reputation as the top classic rock band in Western Wisconsin. With a love for Wisconsin, The Remainders have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities in the La Crosse community over the past 17 years. As their motto states: “Rock’n Out and Doin’ Good,” The Remainders are a perfect example of a community-oriented band with passion for making music.

Sulestial
Sulestial is an artist without boundaries, he has connected his personal influences and emotions across the different genres he releases under. Based out of Milwaukee and originally from a small town out of Milwaukee, Sulestial started playing guitar for a jazz band as well as lead singer/rhythm guitar for his own band “Buffalo River”, before that he played violin, saxophone and banjo.
Sulestial has always believed that music is worth being made and listened to as long as it is done well. With that policy while beginning to produce music, artists such as Exmag and Griz acted as an inspiration for combining the synths of electronic music with the dance inducing grooves of funk with live instruments to create a happy marriage of live and digital music. Sulestial found his niche in creating music that pulls from all his different skill sets and the result is a little something for every music listener.
After his first electronic funk EP “NOVA” released in 2018, Sulestial began to branch out with his releases. The song “Nights Of Love” started to pull from his other influences, incorporating soul and vinyl scratching. In 2021 he gave us his most energetic music yet, such as the heavier synth sounds that came with the release of "Hark" and the funky bass house vibes from "RadioMan".
Now he is gearing up for the release of his funkiest, most bangin' song yet coming in February 2022 so be sure to stay tuned!
I am also a part of music team called "Bass Chasers Music Collective" that I will occasionally play shows with and release music with including a different new single on a compilation album coming later in the year.

JAY STULO
BLUES AND THEN SOME!
Jay Stulo has been playing, fronting, and leading blues bands since the late 1980’s. He has toured the nation several times and released 5 CD’s. Jay first picked up guitar at the age of 14, learning some basic chords from his father, a early rock-a-billy guitarist. He joined his first working bar band Gypsy Rose at the age of 17.
Jay hit the road early with blues legend Luther Allison, then later with James Solberg. Jay co-founded The Mighty Aces in 1996 and toured full-time for a decade leading the The Jay Stulo Band. After taking some time away from music in 2006, Jay picked up his guitar returned to the stage in 2016. It did not take long to get back on top of his game, first as part of the West Coast style Jay Edward Band and now leading an all new Jay Stulo Band.
Influenced by multiple genres, Jay is not a traditional blues artist by any means, and this is not your grandfather’s blues - versatile, high energy guitar pyrotechnics, rock-tinged hooks, and gut-bucket vocals make for a show to remember.

With The Parade, Peggy James Revisits Favorite Songs
and Adds to Her Catalog

Peggy James’ The Parade is an album of quiet strength, fervent hope and unshakeable
faith. The Parade, her sixth album, stands on the strong shoulders of previous releases. It’s a “best-of” and a “what’s new?” featuring five new recordings of favorite songs from her earlier albums and six new songs written in 2021.
Like her previous albums, many influences can be heard yet The Parade refuses to be
easily categorized. And yet, The Parade is rooted above all in the ballad and storytelling
traditions of American country music.
At the heart of The Parade is Peggy James’ voice, pure as a morning in spring, unafraid
yet sensitive to the nuances of the words she sings. She has written her own material since her recording career began.
“Most of my inspiration for writing comes from observing people, places, events and my
own life experiences,” Peggy says. “When something strikes me as interesting, I try to weave a story around it and become a character in the story that makes the idea come alive—like an actor would if given a part,” she continues. “Then I know I’m ready to write it into a song. Usually, the words and the music pretty much appear simultaneously as a rough draft. Then I carve the song until I'm satisfied that the emotion, melody and words express what I intended it to. The first song on the album, ‘I Go With Me’ is a perfect example of this process.”
Peggy accompanies herself throughout The Parade on acoustic guitar. Most of the other
instrumental tracks were performed by her producer and longtime musical partner, Jim Eannelli, who endows the music with its genre-spanning scope. “Willow” is old school country, not more than a few miles down the road from the Carter Family and other seminal country artists.
“Thousand Reasons,” however, has the cadence of one of those great ‘60s hits that hovered somewhere between Nashville and the Top-40. The title track, closing the album, is an anthemic rock song, the collection’s hardest, most electric track.
Common themes recur throughout The Parade. There is the devotion that comes with
caring deeply about another person, but also the search for direction and guidance in a time of confusion.
One of Peggy’s earlier songs rerecorded for The Parade, “Joan of Arc,” sounds timelier
today than when first released in 2010. It’s the account of a woman of conviction, standing straight and moving forward against all obstacles. The Parade will be released digitally on November 19, 2021 with a CD release to follow in 2022.
