We will also talk with music businesses and music organizations. We’ll talk about their origin story, what their influences are, what they do to hone their talents and their skills to be where they are today. What they feel is not only suffocating the local music scene, but, better yet, what they feel is helping push the local scene into the limelight. The Periodicals
Described by The Isthmus as “Your favorite new local band”, Madison favorites The Periodicals inventive, soulful, snappy, and sometimes searching sound doesn’t easily fit in to any one category, reflecting the musical times and places this (male and female, black and white) six-piece has been along the way – London, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Bangor [WI].
Merging elements of northern soul, classic R&B, and alternative rock, the Periodicals blow the dust off and thumb through a rich catalog of brightly-crafted songs that will have you tapping your feet, but can catch you off-guard just as easily as they catch you singing along.
The Periodicals features Heather Vandermeer on vocals and Alida LaCosse on keyboards, along with Eric Wermedal on drums, Steve Rosenblum on bass, Geoff Blake-Horst on lead guitar, and John Wedge on vocals and rhythm guitar. Upcoming live shows will see the band showcase the additional talents of the Library of Congress horn section.
Their latest EP “Journal of Love” released in August 2020, presents three original songs: ”I Can't Stop”, “The Hits Keep Coming”, and “Looks and Lies”, and will have you snapping your fingers and searching your soul.
