Born in Racine, WI, and a recent Midwest [re]transplant after 23 years in New York City’s jazz community, Russ has an impressive resume with 7 recordings as a leader or co-leader and performances on over 75 recordings as a sideman. Having worked with jazz legends like Lee Konitz, Steve Swallow, Bill Frisell, and Joe Lovano, Russ brings a wealth of experience and talent. His groups have graced stages at prestigious festivals worldwide, and his acclaimed recordings, *Meeting Point* and *Still Out To Lunch!*, have garnered rave reviews. Currently serving as Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin Parkside, Russ continues to influence the next generation of jazz musicians. Tune in to hear about his journey, his contributions to jazz, and his work as an educator.
